World War II bombs found at Ipoh Cargo Terminal

IPOH: A group of workers have found what may be a cache of World War II bombs at the Ipoh Cargo Terminal.

According to a source, the workers made the discovery near a track located inside the terminal here on Monday (Dec 23).

“They found it around 8.30am today, and they believe that there are more than 20 bombs in a container,” the source said.

Police personnel and staff from the terminal’s management were already on-site when reporters turned up.

They were not allowed to get anywhere close to where the bombs were said to be.

Ipoh Deputy OCPD Supt Mohamad Nordin Abdullah has confirmed the findings, but is not sure about the number of bombs.

“We are still investigating and waiting for the official report,” he said in a text message. -The Star
