SEREMBAN: Water supply to parts of Seremban and Port Dickson has been disrupted after the authorities were forced to shut down the Linggi treatment plant due to raw water contamination.
Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan (Sains) said the plant was closed after traces of oil were found in Sg Linggi.
“We have no choice but to temporarily shut down the plant following the incident,” the state water concessionaire said in a statement.
Sains believed the oil was deliberately dumped.
“It will take us some time to treat the contaminated raw water and we hope consumers will bear with us,” it said.
Sains said consumers can call the company at its 1-800 88 6982 toll free line for assistance. -The Star
