PUTRAJAYA- A total of 229,131 or 99.9 per cent of the candidates who sat for the Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) Class Assessment Test (UPKK) this year obtained excellent results in the Solat Practical and Islamic Lifestyle Appreciation subjects.
Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Mohamad Nordin Ibrahim said the subject on the al-Quran recorded a 99.8 per cent passing rate.
He said six other subjects also recorded high passing rates namely Jawi and Khat with 93.2 per cent; Lughatul Quran (88.7 per cent); Sirah (86.2 per cent); Adab (Akhlak Islamiah) and Ulum Syariah (Akidah and Ibadah) at 89.5 per cent and 87.0 per cent respectively.
It was our hope that UPKK could serve as a platform to produce balanced students, he told reporters at the UPKK results announcement here today.
Mohamad Nordin said the candidates could obtain their results at their respective schools from 3 pm today.
The assessment results can also be viewed online at http://semakan.islam.gov.my or through SMS by typing UPKK RESULT mykid number or identification number to mySMS 15888 starting 11 am today until Dec 25.
UPKK is an assessment for the year Five pupils aimed at evaluating their performance after attending the KAFA classes based on the prescribed curriculum.- BERNAMA
