KUCHING: Sarawak will be able to work well with the new Sabah government under its newly-appointed Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor, says Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.
The Deputy Chief Minister said the Sarawak government was ready to work with anyone, as long as it was in the interest of the nation.
“We always want political stability in Malaysia.
“This is why we put our support behind Tan Sri Muhyiddin as the Prime Minister because any instability is not good for the country,” he said on Tuesday (Sept 29).
Hajiji, the Sabah Bersatu chairman, was sworn in as Sabah’s 16th Chief Minister earlier on Tuesday.
Tan Sri James Masing, also a Deputy Chief Minister, said GPS looked forward to working with Hajiji to strengthen beneficial and meaningful ties with the Federal Government.
Congratulating Hajiji on his appointment, he expressed confidence that the new Chief Minister would strengthen the good relationship between Sabah and Sarawak.
“I’m also confident that the Cabinet members he will appoint to assist him in administering Sabah will be people of experience, integrity and calibre,” Masing added. -The Star
