SERI KEMBANGAN, (Bernama) — Changes in technology must be seen as opportunities for youths to achieve bigger successes not just within the country but also globally.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said this is because the digital era offered greater opportunities not just in the field of communications but also economics which could change the lifestyle of the people.
“I ask that all youths work with the government in building the future of our country.
“With the development of existing technology and the borderless digital world, our country is capable of becoming an economic leader in this region, especially as we are made up of people who are multi-lingual and strong in our understanding of mutual-respect for different religions and cultures,” he said.
Gobind said this when officiating a community programme: UPM@Desa Serdang Digital Knowledge at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Desa Serdang here today.
The programme by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)’s School of Graduate Studies is aimed at giving students exposure and knowledge on digital and information technology.
Commenting on the programme, Gobind said it would inform the public of the services provided by government agencies and departments and youths would be able to better understand and benefit from government initiatives.
Also present at the event were dean of UPM’s School of Graduate Studies, Prof Dr Robiah Yunus and principal of SMK Desa Serdang, Ruslan Abdol.– BERNAMA
