In early March, Taylor’s is bringing a unique experience, once again, to its Lakeside Campus partnering with Malaysia’s biggest name in sneakers lifestyle and customisation – SneakerLAH, as the third installation of the Taylor’s Future Movement (TFM).
The unconventional collaboration is an extension of its Open Day weekend, where future students can discover and learn more from courses offered at Taylor’s. The weekend’s activities also serve to empower students to come together to create something beneficial for the community.

This year, TFM x SneakerLAH will display about 35 local and international sneaker brands and showcase, along with various competitions, stage performances, food stalls and lucky draws. Sneakerheads can take part in the trading pit, expertly navigate their skills in buying, selling or trading their collection for new pairs of kicks.

Leading to the event, Taylor’s announced a sneaker design competition for its current students on their social media platforms to submit their creative entries. Ten selected designs have a chance to work with sneaker customiser Edmond Looi in a full-day workshop where they will create a custom pair of sneakers and have their final product featured at TFM.
Aspiring technopreneurs may also join in on a forum on both days of the weekend; on Saturday with SneakerLAH founder and Masses editor-in-chief Bryan Chin, Futuremade Studio founder and content creator Tunway @ Xiao Pi Hai and Stoned & Co. chief executive officer and Taylor’s alumni Andrew Ngo – discussing their experiences in “Building Your Own Online Sneaker & Streetwear Platform”. On Sunday, Against Lab co-founder Shawn Tan, 17 Gallery founder Euan Lim and Taylor’s University Faculty of Business Dr Garry Tan will share their insights on “The Rise of e-Commerce in Sneaker & Streetwear Culture”.
There will be stage performances by Talitha Tan, Airliftz, Midnight Fusic and BATE, lucky draws for visitors to win a pair of sneakers and a mural wall design by Fritillda – an ideal setting for Instagram enthusiasts.
