KUALA LUMPUR: The early voter turnout for the six state elections and the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election was at more than 80% as at 1pm Tuesday (Aug 8).
According to the Election Commission (EC), Terengganu had the highest turnout so far at 85%, followed by Kelantan and Negri Sembilan at 83% and Kedah at 81%.
Penang recorded a turnout of 80% while in Selangor it stood at 78%.
The EC added that the turnout for the Kuala Terengganu by-election was at 80% as at 1pm Tuesday.
Some 260 early voting centres involving 377 channels for the Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negri Sembilan state elections opened their doors at 8am Tuesday (Aug 8) morning.
Three early voting centres at the Terengganu contingent police headquarters (IPK) for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election also opened at 8am. – Bernama
