Shah Alam cop diverts busy morning traffic to save dog

KUALA LUMPUR: A Shah Alam traffic police officer is getting praise from Netizens for rescuing a dog that had just been hit by a car at KM13.8 of the Federal Highway this morning.

According to the police’s Facebook post, the policeman was directing traffic along the highway when he saw the incident.

Immediately after the dog was hit, he diverted the traffic and made sure that the dog was back on its feet before resuming his duty.

The post has since been shared more than 5,500 times on the social media.

Meanwhile, Netizens praised the policeman for his quick action.

Irfan Mahfuz Yusof said: “Alhamdulillah. Our frontliners are great. Not only do they take care of human life, (but) animal life as well. #KitaJagaSemua.

Vicknaraj Thanarajah said: “Whilst there may be instances where PDRM actions have been imperfect; However, in instances such as this, I have to say thank you – a small act of compassion and empathy goes a long way – this simple act is a kin to a lit candle in a dark tunnel to some. Well Done PDRM. Thank you.”
