On Monday (Dec 9), Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah reminded the people of Selangor to know their history and understand the destruction caused by the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) from the 1940s to the 1970s.

In his address at the investiture ceremony in conjunction with his 74th birthday, Sultan Sharafuddin said he hoped none of Selangor’s people worshipped CPM leaders due to confusion about historical facts outlining the destruction the CPM caused.

The Selangor Ruler said the current generation must understand the historical facts about the CPM’s ideological struggles in depth so that they would not be misled by confusing facts about CPM’s fight. -The Star
