Its Malaysian website announced the date – 10pm on Aug 5 – and invited people to register to receive updates.

The registration also asked users what they were looking for in their next Galaxy smartphone, including the camera, design, battery life, water- and dust-resistance and more.

It also asked what types of promotions were relevant to the user, from phone trade-ins to monthly installment plans, gifts and warranties.

Samsung had offered a combination of such promotions for its previous flagship offerings too.

It also hinted that other devices would be revealed as part of an “ecosystem of Galaxy devices designed to empower your life”.

The 15-second teaser video highlighted the Note series’ signature S-Pen and also a bronze hue rumoured to be one of the colour options for the phone.

Twitter user Ishan Agarwal earlier posted images from Samsung’s Russian site, which may have accidentally posted renders of the new phone.

It depicted a bronze-coloured phone with a build like the Samsung Note 10, but with a protruding triple camera array similar to the Samsung Galaxy S20.
