PM aims to provide half a million job opportunities by end of 2021

PUTRAJAYA: The National Employment Council chaired by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is targeting to create 500,000 employment opportunities this year.

The prime minister said the government through the Social Security Organisation (Socso) is implementing Penjana Kerjaya 2.0 programme apart from enhancing the MYFutureJobs portal to encourage employers to employ and train new staff.

“Throughout last year, a total 161,603 job seekers secured new employment.

“(For this year) Until February 26, a total of 25,648 job seekers have been employed.

“Through MYFutureJobs, 243,892 employment opportunities are still available for job seekers, of which, 143,320 are created through the portal,” said Muhyiddin when delivering his special address in conjunction with Perikatan Nasional government one year anniversary.- NST
