Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said Perak’s Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah had given his consent and would also open the sitting.

“I plan to hold a discussion with State Speaker Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham on the matter.

“The plan is to have the opening in the morning and continue with a short session,” he told reporters after receiving some personal protection equipment from animal welfare group Mutts and Mittens at his office on Wednesday (April 22).

“There’ll be no oral question-and-answer session. Only written answers for questions,” he said.

Faizal said all state assemblymen would have to undergo health screening before the sitting.

“They will need to adhere to social distancing. Members of the media will also need to be checked,” he said.

The sitting will be first since Perikatan Nasional took over the state government last month.

Faizal was sworn in on March 13, while the state executive council members were sworn in on March 31.

The respective portfolios held by the state exco members were announced on April 7. – The Star
