PETALING JAYA: The unscheduled water cuts at seven districts in the Klang Valley on Thursday (Sept 3) will involve 1,292 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Kuala Langat.
Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said it has deployed water tank lorries to affected areas with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals and dialysis centres.
“Consumers who need water supply for emergencies such as funeral arrangements can contact 15300 or WhatsApp 019-2816793 and 019-2800919.
“Water supply can also be obtained from public taps and Local Service Centres (PKS), ” it said in a statement on Thursday.
Air Selangor said as of 11.30am, pollution was still being detected in the Sungai Selangor raw water source, which had earlier caused the shutting down of four water treatment plants.
They were the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plants Phase 1,2 and 3 and Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant.
“Air Selangor is taking every effort to minimise the impact of the disruption on our affected consumers.
“Information on the unscheduled water supply disruption will be given from time to time through all of our communication channels including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Air Selangor mobile application and website www.airselangor.com, ” it said. -The Star
