TAPAH 17 Oct 2022 (The Capital Post) – After almost a week of anxious waiting, the Perak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) was finally dissolved with effect from Monday.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad made the announcement at a press conference after receiving permission from Perak’s Sultan, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
The dissolution is to enable the State Election (PRN) to be held simultaneously with the 15th General Election (GE15) following the action of the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who announced the dissolution of Parliament on 10 October last.
Perak followed in the footsteps of two other BN-governed states, namely Perlis and Pahang, which made the decision to dissolve their respective state assemblies last Thursday and Friday.-The Capital Post
