Mid Valley Megamall closed after fire, no casualties reported

KUALA LUMPUR: Mid Valley Megamall here has been closed until further notice after a fire broke out at its external TNB station on Wednesday (May 17) morning.

Mid Valley City management said in a statement the incident was subsequently contained by the Emergency Response Team, before Fire and Rescue Department personnel arrived at 10.42am.

As of 11.38am we can confirm that there have been no injuries or casualties reported,” it said.

“The Fire and Rescue Services Department is conducting investigations and securing the premises.

“In prioritising the safety of all present, a temporary disruption to power supply will be implemented until authorities restore the situation.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to reiterate that the safety of our shoppers and guests remains our top priority,” the statement added. – The Star
