KEPALA BATAS: A 24-year-old man has been arrested over property damages at his mother’s house in Permatang Kuang, Penaga here.

Seberang Prai Utara OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said the suspect was arrested after his younger brother called the police for help following the 9pm incident on Wednesday (June 23).
“According to the brother, when he arrived at his mother’s house at about 10.30pm, he found many things, such as the window glass in front of the house, the television and the wooden table had been wrecked.
“The mother of the suspect also said she had been booted from her own home by her son (the suspect),” he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 24).
ACP Noorzainy said the suspect was nabbed straight away by the police and brought to the police station.
He said police found that the incident happened in the living room of the house, which is located in a village area.

There were shards of glass from the broken window, as well as a broken television and wooden table in the house.
ACP Noorzainy said the suspect’s mother and his brother informed the police that the incident happened out of the blue when the suspect locked himself in the house and kicked his mother out while uttering profanities.
“It was learned that this had happened five times before, but this was the first time that the suspect acted aggressively,” he said.
He added that the suspect did not make any threats during the incident and only destroyed the property in the house.
He said the mother did not see the suspect holding any weapon during the incident.
He added that the suspect had one prior narcotic offence. However, the initial urine test done after he was arrested turned up negative.
The suspect has been remanded for four days and the case will be investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code.
