Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Zairulnizam Mohd Zainuddin Hilmi said the man had angrily approached the DBKLl enforcement officer who was managing the traffic flow on Jalan Rakyat at 5pm on Saturday (July 4) and threw a glass at him.
“The officer heard a shout and then saw an empty glass thrown towards him but managed to avoid it,” he said.
It was learned that the man became enraged because enforcers issued him a summon for parking his car on the roadside.
The 37-year-old then approached the enforcement officer and allegedly threatened the officer by uttering “jaga-jaga” (be careful) before removing his car.
The officer’s colleague called the police and the man was taken to the station.
“We later learned that he had mental problems and there are records of him at the psychiatric unit at Hospital Kuala Lumpur,” ACP Zairulnizam said.
The man was later sent home with his family as police investigate the case further.
