KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia aims to increase palm oil production by improving productivity through the adoption of high-yield crop varieties, without expanding its current planting areas, Plantation and Commodities Minister Johari Abdul Ghani said.
Addressing a palm and lauric oils conference on Tuesday, Johari said there is growing international demand for Malaysian palm oil, driven by Indonesia’s decision to raise the palm oil content in its biodiesel blend.
