JKJAV: 497,352 Covid-19 vaccine doses given on Wednesday (Aug 11)

PETALING JAYA: A total of 497,352 Covid-19 vaccination jabs were given throughout Malaysia on Wednesday (Aug 11), says the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV).

JKJAV said that of this total, 227,506 people received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, while 269,846 got their second jabs.

Sabah administered the most first doses with 30,026, followed by Johor at 29,166, Kedah (27,324) and Selangor (23,903).

Selangor topped the list of second doses of Covid-19 vaccines administered with 84,912, followed by Kuala Lumpur (44,613), Johor (32,405) and Sabah (10,014).

In a series of tweets, JKJAV said the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in Malaysia now stands at 25,863,563.

So far, 69.8% of the eligible population, which is equivalent to 50.1% of the total population, has received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine, while 40.7% have completed both doses.-The Star
