Petaling Jaya, 27 Jan 2021 (The Capital Post)- DYMM Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin has conveyed their Thaipusam wishes to all the Hindu’s in Selangor and Malaysia, in a recent official Selangor Royal Office Facebook account.
His Majesty conveyed that, it has been a tradition for a long time, public holiday was declared in Selangor for Thaipusam, but His Majesty took the opportunity this time to advise that this year’s celebration is made moderately in their respective homes according to the Standard of procedure (SOP).
For those who are following the chariot procession, His Majesty advised to follow the SOP’s set by National Security Council (MKN) strictly.
Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah also advise all the Selangorians to continue follow the guidelines firmly stated by the authorities, since the numbers of covid-19 cases surging in Selangor for past months.
All the states in Malaysia declare public holiday for Thaipusam while only Kedah is out of the list with the current Menteri Besar of Kedah Muhd. Sanusi has declared there will be no “Cuti peristiwa” (occasional holiday) since there is no celebration of the annual festival this year.- The Capital Post
