KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry’s training institute in Johor Baru will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (MCO) starting Tuesday (Nov 3), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Senior Minister (Security) said the National Security Council (NSC) special meeting made the decision following a spike in positive cases.
“A total of 1,515 people there were screened and tested, and 46 of them tested positive for Covid-19.
“The institute will be placed under enhanced MCO from Nov 3-16, ” he said during his daily briefing on Monday (Nov 2).
The institute consists of 1,559 individuals, including trainees, staff and their family members, he added.
“Food will be supplied through the state government and the Welfare Department. Targeted screenings will be continued at the location, ” he said.
Ismail urged those involved to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs), including not going in and out of the institute. – THE STAR
