Health ministry reports 118 new Covid-19 deaths

PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 118 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database.

Of the total, 27 were classified as brought-in-dead (BID). The death toll now stands at 26,683.

Most of the fatalities were recorded in Perak with 26 deaths, followed by Sabah and Penang (14 each), Kedah (13), Sarawak (12), Kelantan (9), Selangor (8), Pahang (3) Melaka and Negeri Sembilan (2 each), and Perlis, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan (1 each).

There were no deaths reported in Putrajaya.

As of midnight, there were 150,317 active cases, including 860 in intensive care units (ICU), 478 of whom required respiratory assistance.

There were also 14,454 recoveries reported.

The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 2,277,565.-FMT
