PUTRAJAYA: Three business activities, namely pasar malam, hair salons and car wash services, will now be allowed to operate with a strict standard operating procedure in place from Friday (Feb 5), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The Senior Minister (Security) said that the decision was made after discussions with health authorities and the relevant ministries and agencies.
He said the Health Ministry had evaluated the risks of allowing these businesses to resume, including determining if there were clusters that had emerged from these sectors.
“After discussing this and after finding that there were no clusters resulting from these activities, the National Security Council has agreed to allow these three activities to resume,” he said on Thursday (Feb 4).
According to Ismail Sabri, pasar malam will be allowed to operate from 4pm to 10pm.
Its SOP among others is to ensure that each stall is at least one metre apart; different entry and exit for pasar malam; and that Rela personnel will be on duty to ensure compliance.
For hair salons, operating hours are up to 10 pm and only hair cuts will be allowed.
Those providing the services must have face shield, apron and gloves on.
“Scissors and hair brush are to be cleaned using hot water. Facials and other services provided in the hair salons are not allowed, ” he said.
Car wash services are allowed to open for business until 10pm.-The Star
