Final report on Elmina crash to be released by Aug 16, says Loke

PUTRAJAYA: The final report on the plane crash at Bandar Elmina, Shah Alam, will be released by Aug 16 this year, the Dewan Rakyat was told.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke (pic) said the draft of the final report was completed on June 14. It has been sent to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) USA, the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM), Adrep ICAO, Koperasi Amanah Pelaburan Berhad (KAPB) as the owner of the plane and Jet Valet Sdn Bhd as the operator of the aircraft.

“The final report will be released at the latest on Aug 16, after 60 days when the draft of the final report is commented on and checked by the NTSB USA, CAAM, Adrep ICAO, KAPB, and Jet Valet Sdn Bhd,” said Loke in a parliamentary written reply dated July 16).

Loke was responding to Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Abd Muttalib (BN-Maran), who asked about the latest updates regarding the investigation into the plane crash.

In Aug last year, ten people were killed after it crashed near the Elmina township in Selangor.

According to the preliminary report released last year, investigations of the Beechcraft Model 390 Premier 1 crash found no evidence of incapacitation or physiological factors that affected the flight crew’s performance.

All eight onboard the flight were killed, including Pahang state exco Datuk Seri Johari Harun. The impact of the plane crash also killed a e-hailing driver and a p-hailing rider on the highway.
