PUTRAJAYA, 11 Januari 2021 (The Capital Post) -Malaysian Prime Minister Y.A.B Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today announced the Movement Control Order which came into force on 13 January 2021 until 26 January 2021 in six states namely Penang, Selangor, Federal Territory, Melaka, Johor and Sabah following the sharp increase in covid cases.
The second stage, Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is implemented on six (6) states namely Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan and the third stage, Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) will be implemented for the state of Perlis and Sarawak and will continue throughout the period .
Interstate travel will be banned nationwide while for the states with MCO, interdistrict travel ban will be implemented from 13 Jan.
No social activities allowed in the MCO enforced states while CMCO and RMCO enforced states can carry social activities but with tighter Standard of Procedure (SOP).
In his special address on Monday (Jan 11), the Prime Minister said these essential economic sectors are factories and manufacturing, construction, services, trades and distribution along with plantation and commodities.
“These sectors are allowed to operate to support the needs for basic necessities, household items as well self care, personal protective equipment, medical equipment and medicine, and to ensure the supply remains available to support the current critical infrastructure and emergency works,” he said.
“I advise you to follow the Government’s instructions and maintain your own cleanliness in curbing the spread of this Pandemic” added Tan Sri Muhiyddin Yassin during a special announcement session just now. – The Capital Post
