SHAH ALAM: The swift action of policemen involved in a crash between a car and a police truck on Jalan Bukit Cherakah, Klang, early this morning saved the car driver’s life from a fiery end.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said four people, including three policemen, were involved in the incident.

He said they received information about the accident at 6.40am and deployed six firefighters from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

“The operations commander reported that the accident was believed to have resulted from a collision between the two vehicles.

“At the time of the incident, the policemen rescued the conscious driver by breaking the window and pulling him out before the car was completely engulfed in flames,” he said in a statement today.

Ahmad Mukhlis said the 56-year-old car driver and the police truck driver sustained a broken leg and a broken arm, respectively.

“Meanwhile, the other two policemen suffered minor injuries.”

He said the police truck driver managed to reverse the vehicle to prevent it from catching fire.

All the victims were taken to Tunku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang, for treatment,” he said.
