The bride and groom also did not put on the traditional Malay outfits.

Instead, the groom looked dashing in a suit while the bride was resplendent in a gown, Sin Chew Daily reported.

They were also accompanied by four Chinese and Malay children in Malay attire acting as flower girls and page boys during the ceremony on Saturday.

The bride’s father, known as Abdul Jalil, said the wedding had a tinge of Chinese culture and traditions as Malaysia is a multiracial country.

“My daughters studied in Chinese primary schools while my wife works with a Chinese company.

“We have many Chinese friends. That’s why we wanted a wedding ceremony featuring Chinese culture.

“But of course, we also have our Malay ceremony with the merry sound of the kompang.

“Two ceremonies with two different themes. I just wanted to leave my daughter with an unforgettable wedding celebration, ” he added. -The Star
