PETALING JAYA: Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin has announced that Malaysia will be reporting zero deaths from Covid-19 for the first time since December 18, 2020.
“Our ongoing transition to endemicity has been calibrated and data driven, let us pray it continues paying off,” he said in a statement.
In April, Khairy announced that the country had entered the transition into the endemic phase.
According to the health ministry, Malaysia has recorded a total of 35,732 Covid-19 related deaths since the start of the pandemic. This includes 28,153 inpatient deaths and 7,579 who were brought in dead (BID).-FMT
