PETALING JAYA: “No news but creating news,” Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says of a viral tweet that claimed a former Health director-general will be entering the fray in the upcoming state elections.
He had been asked if there was any truth to the claims by Twitter user @ArwahMakLampir that the former health director-general could be contesting in Selangor.
“Speculations (sic) are rife that an ex-DG of MOH (Health Ministry) will be contesting in the DUN (state legislative assembly) Selangor?” the tweet read.
Dr Noor Hisham, who was in the forefront of the country’s Covid-19 fight, retired in April after serving the government for 35 years.
Perikatan Nasional is set to unveil its candidates for Selangor, Kedah and Penang on Wednesday (July 26).
