PETALING JAYA: Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar confirms that five of his aides have been sacked.

Sivakumar said this when met by reporters after an occupational health and safety event in Bangi, Selangor, on Tuesday (May 9).

“Yes, it happened. This is to ensure that the ministry can function effectively and smoothly,” he said.

When pressed further as to why the five people were sacked before being found guilty, Sivakumar stayed quiet and left without answering.

Earlier, it was reported that the contracts of five of Sivakumar’s officers were terminated while one officer was transferred to the Public Services Department (JPA).

Last month, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had arrested three of his aides in connection with an investigation into the recruitment of foreign workers.

On April 16, Sivakumar was also summoned by the MACC with regard to the matter. – The Star
