PETALING JAYA: The price of RON97 petrol will increase by five sen from March 11 to March 17, says the Finance Ministry.
It said that the retail price for RON97 petrol will increase from RM2.35 per litre to RM2.40 per litre.
The price of RON95 petrol and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively.
The ministry also said that to protect consumers from global oil price increases, the government will maintain a ceiling price of RON95 petrol at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre despite increases in market prices.
“The government will continue to monitor the trends of global crude oil prices and take appropriate measures to ensure the continued welfare and well-being of the people,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday (Feb 26).
