Ringgit rebounds to open higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR (July 1): The ringgit rebounded after two consecutive days of losses, opening marginally higher against the US dollar on Friday morning (July 1) ahead of the fourth Bank Negara Malaysia Monetary Policy Committee meeting scheduled to be held next week, an analyst said.

At 9am, the local currency had appreciated to 4.4060/4070 against the greenback from 4.4075/4090 at the close on Thursday.-BERNAMA
