KOTA BARU: Police have arrested a murder suspect barely 15 hours after he allegedly killed his boss at Kampung Che Arus Bukit Merbau near Kok Lanas last night.
Kelantan Criminal Investigation Department chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Khairuddin Wan Idris said the 23-year-old suspect who is a Thai citizen, was detained at some bushes around the same village.
“The suspect was hiding in the bushes when he was nabbed by a police party about 2.40pm.
“Police, however, have yet to locate the knife used by the suspect in the killing,” he said.
Wan Khairuddin said the suspect would be remanded tomorrow to assist police investigations into the case.
He said the case s being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
It was reported that the 38-year-old man was stabbed by his Thai worker after an argument at Kampung Che Arus Bukit Merbau near Kok Lanas here last night.
The incident occurred about 11.30pm. The victim who was stabbed all over his body died while being treated at Machang hospital.
Initial investigations revealed that the argument between the two broke out due to a misunderstanding.-NST
