More than 200 flood evacuees return home, three flood relief centres closed in Ipoh

IPOH, Nov 12 — More than 200 flood evacuees in the Larut, Matang and Selama district have returned home, leaving only 132 people at the relief centres, from 381 people this morning.

A spokesman for the Perak Disaster Managament Committee Secretariat said the evacuees who returned home were from the relief centres at Dewan Orang Ramai Pantai Besar, Sekolah Kebangsaan Pantai Besar, both in Batu Kurau, and Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Air Kuning in Taiping.

The three relief centres were closed at noon today, he said in a statement.

He said the remaining evacuees are at the relief centres at Sekolah Rendah Agama Rakyat Ngah Ibrahim Al Barakah, in Taiping, with 42 people from Kampung Batu 7, Changkat Baru, and Dewan Serbaguna Kampung Sungai Ara, with 90 people.
