PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Armed forces will be opening six more field hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients, bringing the total to eight, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.
In addition, a modular hospital will be built and completed in three months. It will be able to accommodate 64 beds, including 16 intensive care unit beds.
The hospital will be funded by WCT Holdings Berhad.
Ismail Sabri told a press conference the military is prepared to help the government deploy mobile clinics by mobilising its buses.
He also said a drive-through vaccination centre for military personnel will be opened in Kem Sungai Besi. It will be opened to the public later.-FMT
