PETALING JAYA:The Kelana Jaya LRT service is operating as usual today, using one track, and supported by a free shuttle bus service, following last night’s collision between two trains.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) said trains will be running every 10 minutes during peak hours and 30 minutes at other times.

In a statement, it said the trains are operating at 50% capacity following the government’s announcement of stricter measures during the movement control order period (MCO 3.0) and passengers are expected to wait longer than previously.

Prasarana said the train frequency may be changed according to the needs.

To facilitate the movement of passengers during peak hours, it said, five double-decker shuttle buses, with a frequency of between 15 and 20 minutes, will be provided to take passengers to any station between the Pasar Seni and Ampang Park stations.

It said operations staff will also be stationed at each station platform between the two stations to monitor and help facilitate passenger movement.

A total of 233 people were injured, 47 seriously, in last night’s collision between two LRT trains between the KLCC and Kampung Baru stations.-FMT
