PETALING JAYA: The disruption of Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) services along the Klang Valley line and the inter-city Electric Train Service (ETS) on Wednesday (March 22) were due to a power outage, says the company.

It added that the 5.50pm disruption was due to an electric power outage in areas within Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur and Batu Caves.

“There were heavy rainstorms around the area causing a power outage along the Slim River to Sungai Buloh stations, Kepong to Rawang stations and Rasa to Slim River stations,” said KTMB.

“The disturbance caused a 120-minute delay in our train services,” it added

As for ETS, KTMB said the rainstorms caused technical disruptions for trains EG9276, EG9035, EG9424, EP9279, EP9180 and EG9032 and passengers were asked to leave at the nearest station available.

“All affected ETS passengers will receive a full refund by the company,” it said.

As of 5.45am on Thursday (March 23), train services along Batu Caves to Sentul have resumed operations.
