PETALING JAYA: The Klang Valley has seen a 22% increase in hospital admissions over the last seven days.
In a Twitter post, health minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the ministry has included a snapshot view on its CovidNow portal to “quickly highlight trends” — with the rising hospital admissions in the Klang Valley and Sarawak among the leading signs for the ministry to track.
According to the data, hospital admissions in the Klang Valley rose 22% over the past week while Sarawak saw a 16% increase.
Selangor recorded the highest rate of increase at 23% while Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya saw a 12% and 5% increase respectively.
Nationwide, though, there has been a 2% decrease in hospital admissions over the last week.
There has also been a 21% decrease in the number of average weekly cases across the country.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths over the past 14 days has gone down by 26%.-FMT
