KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 — Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd’s net profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2020 (Q3 20) slipped to RM30.38 million from RM33.01 million in the same period last year.
Revenue fell to RM222.21 million from RM263.33 billion a year earlier.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the company said with various adversities and a challenging landscape, particularly related to the COVID-19 pandemic, its operations and financial performance are also adversely impacted for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2020.
“Overall, the decrease in revenue and net profit were mainly attributed to the progress of construction works on-site.
“For the property development segment, with no project under development for the financial quarter under review, the segment has minimum contribution to the group’s results while its investment segment profit increased mainly from gains on disposal of investment in foreign-quoted shares of RM8.80 million,” it noted.
Moving forward, the group said it will continue to monitor and implement appropriate measures in a timely manner to address the adverse risk of the pandemic.
Nevertheless, it added that the business will be supported by an outstanding order book of RM3.59 billion as at Sept 30, 2020 which included the building construction contracts worth RM1.35 billion secured during the financial period. – BERNAMA
