PETALING JAYA: The ban on interstate travel, including during the Hari Raya celebrations, needs to be extended owing to the Covid-19 situation, the health ministry said today.
According to a Bernama report, health minister Dr Adham Baba said the ministry will propose that the lifting of interstate travel restrictions be postponed.
He said the government has received requests from various parties to delay the lifting of the restrictions.
“As cases are increasing daily and (the situation) is still unstable, travel (restrictions) must be extended,” he said after an event in Putrajaya.
Adham also said Ramadan bazaars will be closed if they lead to new Covid-19 clusters.-FMT
