KUALA LUMPUR: The government’s efforts to reduce dependence on foreign workers in the construction industry will be discussed at the Dewan Rakyat sitting today.

According to the Order Paper, the issue will be raised in a question on the Construction Academy of Malaysia (ABM) by Robert Lawson Chuat (GPS-Betong) to the works minister.

There will also be a question from Lukanisman Awang Sauni (GPS-Sibuti) to the entrepreneur development and cooperatives minister on measures to assist the wedding-related business industry impacted by the Covid-19 SOPs.

The debate on the Supply Bill 2021 will continue for the sixth day.

The daily sitting this week is for four hours from 10am with only 80 MPs – 41 from the government and 39 from the opposition and independents – allowed in the house at any one time to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The current Parliament meeting is for 27 days until Dec 15. -FMT
