KUALA LUMPUR (July 16): Bursa Malaysia stayed in negative territory at midday today as investors took profit in healthcare-related and gloves stocks, interspersed with buying interest in selected counters including those in the construction and plantation sectors.
At 12.30pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) decreased 0.28% or 4.29 points to 1,516.53 from Thursday’s close of 1,520.82.
The index opened 3.08 points higher at 1,523.9 and moved between 1,511.78 and 1,525.37 throughout the morning session.
Losers slightly outpaced gainers at 402 to 394, while 440 counters were unchanged, 1,003 untraded and 18 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 2.56 billion units worth RM1.65 billion.-BERNAMA
