PETALING JAYA: A total of 96 roadblocks have been set up along the district and state borders of the Klang Valley, with the enforcement of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) from today to Oct 27.

Sixty-four of them are in Selangor, 28 in Kuala Lumpur and four in Putrajaya.

Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaluddin said this was to prevent people from travelling interstate without permission during the CMCO period.

He said roadblocks had also been set up at border crossings from Selangor to Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Pahang.

“To strengthen monitoring operations, Selangor police have mobilised all forces assisted by the military, Rela and the Civil Defence Force (APM),” he told FMT.

He advised road users to abide by the rules throughout the CMCO, failing which they could be issued with compounds.

Putrajaya police chief Mohd Fadzil Ali said the four roadblocks in the city were located at Lebuh Sentosa leading to the Maju Expressway (MEX), Persiaran Selatan leading towards Dengkil, Persiaran Utara Gate 2 A leading towards Kajang, and Persiaran Utara Gate Three leading towards Puchong. -FMT
