PENAMPANG: Four family members were burnt to death when their house caught fire at Taman Hungap here early today.
The fire and rescue department was alerted to the blaze at about 2.50am. It sent a team of firefighters to the scene and managed to control the fire at 3.40am.
The department’s assistant director, Misran Bisar, identified the victims as Matthew Wong, 50, Jecky Vun Kon Fung, 48, Brendan Wong, 18, and Eric Wong, 15.
Their charred remains were found inside the house at about 5am.
Misran said the fire caused 90% damage to the double-storey terrace house. Two cars were also damaged.-BERNAMA
