PETALING JAYA: More than 800 areas in the Klang Valley are affected by water cuts following a brief shutdown of the water treatment plants along Sungai Selangor.
“A total of 861 areas in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat will experience water supply disruption.
“Consumers who are affected are expected to have water supply restored starting 3pm Tuesday (Dec 8) in stages, with full restoration expected by 11.59pm Wednesday (Dec 9), ” Air Selangor said Tuesday (Dec 8).
It added that the water supply disruptions affected 886,297 accounts.
Air Selangor also said it will mobilise water tankers to affected areas, with priority given to premises with critical needs, such as hospitals and dialysis centres.
“Air Selangor understands the need for consumers to have clean water, especially with the rise in Covid-19 cases and with the implementation of the condition movement control order.
“We will make every effort to minimise the impact of the disruption towards affected consumers, ” it said.
