One neighbour who declined to be identified said the man, in his 50s, had been seen only three times in the last two weeks.

He believed the man probably went out to get food before returning home.

“He always goes out in his car,” Sinar Harian quoted the neighbour as saying on Wednesday (Nov 13).

“He doesn’t mingle with the people here,” said the neighbour, who has lived in the area for 50 years.

The suspect’s immediate neighbour told the daily that he had not seen the deceased, who was in her 80s, for some time.

Another neighbour who declined to be named said the suspect seldom kept the lights on and the house was usually dark.

“We think he suffered a stroke,” she added.

It was reported on Tuesday (Nov 12) that a man allegedly killed his elderly mother and kept her body in a freezer for three years in a house in Taman OUG here.

It is learnt that the victim’s son had contacted the police earlier.

Sources said the suspect was standing next to the freezer when police arrived.

Police later said the case was being probed as murder.
