PETALING JAYA: Former Health director-general Tan Sri Noor Hisham Abdullah is back at the Endocrine Institute of Hospital Putrajaya.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday (Oct 3), he said he would be performing surgery every Monday and have clinical consultations every Tuesday.
“I hope this institute will strengthen the endocrine surgery and treatment efforts nationwide and become a centre of excellence of international standard,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
He added that the institute is housed in a 10-storey block with 220 beds, an intensive care unit with 10 beds for adults and eight for paediatric patients, a hybrid neuro-endocrine operating theatre (OT) and four other OTs.
Dr Noor Hisham, an endocrine surgeon, took on the role of head and senior consultant of breast and endocrine surgery at the hospital in 2002.
He retired as the Health director-general on April 19.
