PHNOM PENH: National hammer thrower Grace Wong gave Malaysia a rousing start in athletics as she won the women’s hammer throw gold by shattering the SEA Games record at the Morodok Techo National Stadium here on Monday (May 8).
Grace hurled the hammer to a distance of 61.80m, better than her mark of 59.24 set en route to gold in Kuala Lumpur in 2017.
This is Grace’s second SEA Games gold medal, as she also won it last year in Hanoi with a distance of 57.13m.
Malaysia also secured a bronze medal through Nurul Hidayah Lukman (49.61m). – The Star
