KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 26): Bursa Malaysia remained lower at midday on Tuesday on lack of catalysts.

At 12.30pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) shed 3.7 points to 1,584.24 from Monday’s close of 1,587.94.
The benchmark index, which opened 0.82 of-a-point higher at 1,588.04, moved between 1,583.07 and 1,589.11 throughout the morning trading session.
Market breadth was negative with losers outpacing gainers 525 to 353, while 448 counters were unchanged, 964 untraded, and 33 others suspended.
Turnover amounted to 2.1 billion units worth RM1.19 billion.
Rakuten Trade said the FBM KLCI continued to move sideways from the lack of fresh leads.

“We reckon such trend will persist though the market seemed to be well supported by foreign funds,” it said in a research note on Tuesday.
Among the heavyweights, IHH Healthcare Bhd and CIMB Group Holdings Bhd gained one sen each to RM6.56 and RM5.25, respectively; Malayan Banking Bhd and Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd were flat at RM8.15 and RM8.80, respectively; Public Bank Bhd slid one sen to RM4.23; Tenaga Nasional Bhd fell two sen to RM9.74
Of the actives, GUH Holdings Bhd jumped 13 sen to 77 sen, while Vortex Consolidated Bhd and Asdion Bhd inched up half-a-sen to 10 sen and 23.5 sen, respectively. Kanger International Bhd was flat at five sen and Dataprep Holdings Bhd erased six sen to 90 sen.
On the index board, the FBM Emas Index decreased 31.07 points to 11,671.84, the FBMT 100 Index dropped 32.54 points to 11,304.91, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index went down 46.94 points to 12,727.88.
The FBM 70 was 67.96 points weaker at 15,300.3, and the FBM ACE slid 7.39 points to 7,150.09.
Sector-wise, the Industrial Products and Services Index inched down 0.54 of-a-point to 209.99, the Plantation Index eased 14.65 points to 6,993.02, and the Financial Services Index narrowed 14.09 points to 15,730.85.-BERNAMA
