Girl falls to her death from seventh floor of apartment

PUTRAJAYA: An 11-year-old girl fell to her death from the seventh floor of an apartment in Precinct 5, here, last night.

Putrajaya police chief Assistant Commissioner A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said police received a report on the incident at 6.55pm before the girl succumbed to severe injuries at the Putrajaya Hospital.

He said the victim, Keisya Nawrah Md Rizal, 11 was said to be studying inside her room alone with the door locked from inside when the incident took place.

“Initial investigations showed that at the time of incident the girl was at home with her 14-year-old sister and seven-year-old brother while the victim’s parents went out to work”.

“The window grille in the room was also unlocked and there were no closed circuit cameras (CCTV) at the scene,” he said.

Asmadi said upon returning from work about 6pm the parents tried to open the daughter’s room with a duplicate key and found her missing.

“They also found the windows and grilles wide open”.

He said the victim’s parents rushed to the ground floor and noticed a crowd gathered around their daughter sprawled in a pool of blood.

“The victim was in critical condition was given emergency treatment by the Fire and Rescue Team (JBPM) about 6.45pm before she was taken to Putrajaya Hospital in an ambulance”.

“We did not find anything suspicious about the circumstances of her death and have ruled out foul play, for now. The girl suffered broken limbs and we are waiting for the post mortem report for the actual cause of death”.

“The victim died at the hospital at 7pm and the case is classified as sudden death,” he said.-NST
